BMW 550i

Cody’s 550i is a car I will remember forever. Cody’s N63tu in his 550i is the hardest engine I have ever performed work on, and still is to this day, even considering this was one of the first handful of cars I installed downpipes on. The N63tu is notorious for its unique “hot mount” twin turbo setup, which places the two turbos above the engine as opposed to on the sides, which is extremely efficient when making a great, powerful engine, but not so efficient in means of trying to work on them. Similar to the Elantra N downpipe, I spent hours, after unbolting everything required, trying to wiggle not one, but two downpipes out of their unique positioning, and eventually cracked the code. As always, the installation of his aftermarket downpipes went smoother than the de-install, and the outcome of the new downpipes was nothing short of outstanding as Cody described it.
