Maddox’s 340i is a true example of peak BMW engineering. With the accompaniment of a B58, and a great body style, this car is utterly perfect. Maddox’s car was the very first car I ever installed a downpipe on and one of the first cars I ever worked on. It was decently difficult my first time around, trying to keep myself oriented with the correct thought process, step-by-step movements, and occasionally the classic YouTube video if I was stumped. The unique part to this though, is 8 months later he asked me to undo my work and put on his OEM downpipe, which allowed me to inspect how my work held up after being beaten on for 8 months, and the quality of my efforts pulled through as everything was in perfect order. A perfect outcome for Maddox’s 340i.
Work Performed
- VRSF Downpipe install
PS: The blue, purple, and orange coloring on the downpipe (pic 3) is due to the turbo’s hot air flow creating a 3-stage heatmap on the easily impressionable stainless steel pipe, creating a super cool look.
